Plan Your Visit Groups

Plan Your Group Visit

  • You will determine the timing and order of your visit, free to spend time in the areas you most want to emphasize.

Time span

  • Most groups find that 2 hours is a good amount of time for a visit. Add additional time if you’d like to bring and enjoy lunch onsite.
  • We are open Wednesday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm and Sunday, 1 to 4 pm.

Staying for lunch

  • Store lunches in containers/coolers with ice packs to assure that food is kept at a safe temperature as they will be kept outside.
  • You can either keep them in vehicles until lunchtime or place your containers in the shade under the breezeway. There is no inside storage available.
  • Additional information for School/Youth Groups:
    • Make sure to bring wagons or carts in which to transport your lunches from the east parking lot.

Visiting our structures

  • You are welcome to walk through any of the buildings you find unlocked.
  • Some of our houses are only open if there is a volunteer on duty to monitor them. Signage will indicate availability and directions.
  • Our gift shop is staffed by volunteers so hours may vary.
  • Additional information for School/Youth Groups:
    • The House of Seven Gables and Walsingham House are not available for field trip groups.
    • Keep the number of students you allow into the buildings at once at a manageable number.
    • Students visiting the gift shop MUST BE supervised by an adult and be in small groups.

Rules & Information

  • Our park is free and open to the public. Donations to the Pinellas County Historical Society, a friends group that exists to support Heritage Village, are always welcome. There are two ways to donate at our Welcome Center/Gift Shop: make checks out to Pinellas County Historical Society, or place cash in the donation box.
  • Always remind participants to walk, watch your step as you navigate the park, and stay out of the brush.
  • Be aware that you are in a park setting that may include wildlife. Please watch from a distance and do not approach or feed.
  • Bathrooms are located off the breezeway and near the HC Smith Store.
  • Please don’t touch! Most of the interiors of our historic structures are no touch zones. Help preserve our artifacts for future visitors to enjoy by only using your eyes to learn from them.
  • Dispose of trash in designated containers.
  • Water and soda are available for purchase in the HC Smith Store.
  • Additional information for School/Youth Groups:
    • Review and share rules and details of your visit plan with your students and chaperones well in advance of your visit.
    • Stress to chaperones that they are to monitor and address the behavior of students to assure that other visitors, volunteers, staff, and our facilities are treated with respect.
    • School/Youth Groups are responsible for making and bringing their own copies of any materials needed by students and chaperones.
